So, what's new?
Mooooovies:
Well, I watched the Wallace and Gromit movie at last yesterday, and absolutely loved it, of course. It was like my childhood all over again. And I realised, as I was nearly crying in his best moments, that if Gromit was human he'd be just the sort of person I'd fall for. I'm not sure what that says about me.
I also just watched Larence Olivier's Hamlet for the first time and thought it was also pretty good. I did find myself spontaneously screaming 'Mufasa!' when the dead king says 'Remember me...' in that spectral voice. Which got me thinking about parallels to the Lion King and wondering why I hadn't noticed it before, but there you are. Which suggests that Scar got more than just food of Sarabi, but that doesn't bear thinking about, eugh. I was also shocked the length - or rather, the lack of length - of some of the men's skirts in that film too - the king's especially. There are young girls around, Claudius!
My Subconcious is aliiiive:
I have a badge that says 'Nobody deserves mime, Buffy.' I bought a Super Badge It! machine and I'm so in love with it! :D I need to buy a refill pack and make one that says 'But people have wives, Atherton!' which will be a source to mystery to everybody, including me. I don't understand my subconcious. Last night I dreamt about, among other things, powerpuff dolls coming to life and killing people. Davina McCall was there.
Geekitude and being a hoarder:
I now have three gameboys: An original, transparent one (my brother's old one), a bright pink pocket one (as purchased of ebay for a very decent price) and a purple game boy colour (found at the back of a cupboard in the garage). I think I'm just about ready to upgrade to an advance now. I also have many other things that I have discovered as we clean out the house - my old scooter safely folded in my room, an old guitar we found under the stairs, my iPod safe and sound, a printer, a bowler-type hat, and Eevee doll, various items of clothing, a whole box of tings I call interesting objects, which one the day the muse will force me to make into interesting and provocative sculptures, some new shoes, a new bag, a couple of useful tins and boxes and a smirnoff ice.
While the rest of the house gets slowly emptier, my room is slowly filling up to overflow...
